It also offers these entrepreneurs the possibility of participating in the tradeshow in search of export opportunities, as is the case with 60 of the entrepreneurs in the current phase of the project.

“Within the Government, we have a very special commitment to the fashion system, speaking a bit of figures and understanding the magnitude of the system in Antioquia, today we have around 18 thousand companies that are formalized that are generating approximately 184 thousand jobs. We can find in the different business subregions various entrepreneurs working in leather goods, costume jewelry, footwear, women’s and men’s clothing, home clothes and now we are also putting our efforts on the strengthening of other types of activities, especially the orange economy and creative economies that are related to the fashion system, such as design, photography and illustration. Of course, there is an interest and willingness from the Department to support the system, we recognize the generation of employment that it has, in addition to contributing 2.5% of the total GDP of Antioquia, figures that show that it has been growing”, says Daniela Trejo Rojas, Secretary of Economic Development, Innovation and New Economies.
