ALADO: SIGNATURE LABEL AND DIFFERENTIATION
Alejandro González and Andrés Restrepo are the designers of ALADO, a Medellín brand that has been built with differentiation, being a Colombian benchmark that unites style and sustainability. Alado is defined by its collections that tell stories, where garments and accessories have the power to evoke and transport you to specific moments and contexts. Their designs are represented by being complex structures that reveal different stories, where the molding, development of silhouettes and exploration of cuts, are evident. Romantic nuances, risky, feminine and rich details are part of their creative proposals.
A NEW CROSS: DIALOGUE BETWEEN THE CRAFTSMANSHIP AND THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD
Nicolas Agustín Rivero is the creative director of A New Cross, a Bogota brand driven by questioning and reinterpreting the contemporary imaginary of Colombian and Latin American identity. A minimalist, monochromatic and urban proposal that looks to the future drawing inspiration from the Latin American heritage from the artisan work within rural communities in the savannah areas.
Its small-scale production model and the co-creation with artisan communities, ensure the development of garments of high quality, durability and exclusivity that promote conscious and sustainable consumption.
LAURA LAURENS: FASHION WITH A SENSE OF REALITY
Laura Laurens, designer of the brand that bears the same name, has traced her way through the fashion industry by having a crude approach to design, which permeates each of her proposals. Textile interventions, artisan processes, commitment to sustainability and the empowerment of the local indigenous communities of their country, generate a distinctive factor within their developments today.
Each collection tells a story in which paradoxes are the central theme and materials are the white canvas to subvert the paradigms, all from their environmental and artistic sensitivity.
PRIAH: FABRICS THAT ARE BORN IN THE BOYACÁ MOUNTAINS
Juanita García, founder and creative director of Priah, creates the brand from a simple idea: to pay tribute to the work of artisans, located in the mountains of Boyacá, who preserve the art of crochet, an ancient technique threatened by industrialization.
A proposal that through innovation seeks to preserve the roots of this tradition. Her passion for sustainable fashion and social entrepreneurship led to the creation of carefully selected collections designed to pay tribute to heritage, artisans, and culture. Her inspiration comes from this region, a place adorned with a variety of minimalist textures thanks to nature, a place of contrasts where luxury flourishes from rustic environments.
This way, Alado, A New Cross, Laura Laurens and Priah, will carry their hallmark to Qatar through Unique, Fashion Trust Arabia 2021, a project of Inexmoda, Fashion Trust Arabia and ProColombia. This will allow Colombian design to be launched to international markets, an initiative that begins in Qatar with the opportunity to continue expanding throughout the Middle East and Europe.
