BCapital 2019: A demonstration to design creativity, exalting the authentic Colombian stamp

There will be seven fashion moments within the program of BFashion where designers and brands from the Country will exhibit how this is connected with music, art, theater and photography, among them: Banco de Bogotá presenting Cano by Paula Mendoza; Banco de Bogotá presenting Diego Guarnizo; Punto Blanco; Andrea Landa; and Chevignon x Atelier Crump

October 2019. BCapital, the event created by Inexmoda for Bogotá where the creativity terrains are explored through staging on different scenarios; and where fashion joins art, music, theater, photography, and cinema, to generate unusual proposals from unconventional staging; arrives these October 17 and 18 to diverse iconic places of the Hotel Tequendama, to evidence the new horizons Colombian fashion is going through from the authenticity of the designers and brands from the Country.

“In this edition, BCapital will evidence the DNA characterizing the designers and the brands of the Country. A bet showcasing contemporary and cutting-Edge proposals, impregnated with creativity and innovation, key elements allowing them to be recognized on the international field. It will be two days in which we will present the most valuable asset of the creative industry of the Country: the authentic Colombian stamp”, stated Leonor Hoyos, Inexmoda’s Connections Director. 

Knowledge gathered around BSmart axis

BSmart will encourage talks and deep reflections surrounding vanguard and sustainability within the Fashion System. The Schedule, which has free entrance without prior inscription, will be opened on Thursday with the talk offered by Marvel 80, “Comics and Superheroes as a Reflect and Fashion Influence Day by Day, with the voices of Adriana Convers, Camila Villamil and Diego Bolaños Estrada. The audience will get to know different versions about how these 80 years of Marvel stories have shaped tastes and dressing styles of thousands of people around the world and in Colombia.

Likewise, the designers Diego Guarnizo, Paula Mendoza and Verdi Design, will be part of the talk Hablemos de Moda: Los Orígenes”, where they will share their knowledge about the use of renewable resources, the use of the local and the brands migrating towards cultural ancient knowledge.

For its part, during the talk Hablemos de Moda “Diseño Colaborativo: un Lugar para la Exploración”, by Chevignon and Atelier Crump, the audience will get to know about alliances, teamwork, innovation and powerful strategies focused on the talents from different perspectives, as only those organizations understanding the value generated through cooperation, will cause a great impact on people, going beyond the product itself.

Continuing with the same line, the talk Hablemos de Moda Cazadores de Experiencias”, from the look of Julián Páez from Escappy Travel, Santiago Gutierrez from Adidas and Sara Barrientos from El Cielo, will invite the consumer to find value on those memorable experiences that link with them emotionally, in order to create better strategies. *To know all about BSmart program go to www.bcapital.com.co 

Colombian Design Authenticity

On the other hand, from BFashion axis, fashion shows from different Avant-garde and unconventional proposals will be enjoyed such as the  5×5, El Estudio del B and runways, which will take place on the mythical red room of Hotel Tequendama that will be adapted with a “quadrilateral” format.

 5×5 runway, will arrive to get out of the traditional with the proposals from five designers, presenting five looks each full of Colombian talent. A runway by:  La Michelle, Juan Enríquez, VANA, The Shirt Lab and Osop Mansion.

La Michelle will reveal its collection Cordelia; inspired by mythological maidens tricking the sailors with their beauty and the sweetness of their singing, a story reflected on the handmade details, such as the filigree and the rhinestones. On the other hand, the designer Juan Enríquez will present Savannah, a proposal based on the luxury and the sophistication, contrasting the organic and wild animal and floral inspiration, with bright colors referring to the graphic of the cities.

Furthermore, the collection Chiribiquete comes from the hand of VANA, referring to the biggest tropical rainforest national park of the planet. On the textiles will be shown the cultural richness kept on its walls covered with cave art. Finally, The Shirt Lab will have a sample of cuts, collected, pleats and seams, creating clean garments with a sculptural beauty. Ultra-feminine structured pieces inspired for its collection Ingeniería.

In addition, for Estudio del B, Banco de Bogotá will present the designer Diego Guarnizo, displaying his talent with the collection: Epifanía, a proposal in which two worlds are found and discovered, greet and decide to share their feelings, their anxieties and fears. An invitation to believe in the environment, to protect and defend freedom, earth, love and to value without measure. It will be a journey through the known territories that have always been invisible: the sea, the mountain, the river and the jungle, in addition to a tribute to the passion for the craft.

This edition will also arrive with the proposals of Banco de Bogotá presenting Cano by Paula Mendoza with Tayrona, her most recent collection as a Creative Director of Joyería Cano, a tribute to Colombia and its ancestors. Also, with her collection S.K.I.M.O.S, Andrea Landa will highlight the Eskimo tribes in which the embroidery, the stitch and cut stand out. Moreover, SIENTE PB –Punto Blanco Runway, will present its collection “Hacer una Pausa”, that will reflect a sophisticated urban style, mixing knit mastery with expressive resources from the most sartorial pieces.

Similarly, Chevignon x Atelier Crump will take part with his collection “Nuestra Herencia”, the perfect combination of denim mastery, Chevignon’s emblem, with the traditional sartorial, Atelier Crump’s symbol. Finally, the runway presented by Fucsia: Tanqueray X MAZ – Manuela Álvarez, will evidence the timelessness of the merged silhouettes with artisanal interventions handcrafted, turning every piece into an unique element where the basic textiles, looms, fabrics and embroidery, stand out on her collection “Aunque es de Noche”. *To know more about BFashion program go to  www.bcapital.com.co

Collections and pieces with cutting-edge identity

Designers and brands from the Country will exhibit their products in the Pop-Up Store that will be placed on the floor 17 of the Hotel. There, the Fashion System lovers, will be able to interact with the collections from around 12 different brands and designers, who will be selling and marketing their products.

That is why BCool will be a space driven to those who value the power of Colombian design. The visitors will be able to connect with the Marvel experience, celebrating its 80 years and brands like La Petite Mort working traditional masculine tailoring; Lugó Lugó with men’s clothing specialized in ceremony; Inanna with swimsuits with different sizes from Medium to 5XL; Oriana Miranda with exclusive jewelry; La Cano with its precious metalwork; Alado, with a distinctive stamp differentiated, and FEHH showing leatherworking proposals.

BCapital, on its fifth edition, will be an invitation to know the unique and authentic stamp characterizing Colombian design, that one emerging from the inspiration of the designers who get connected with their ancestors, traditions, culture, roots and origins, in order to inject a distinctive DNA to every piece, allowing them to locate within the international markets.
